Brushwood Fencing Facts

Brushwood Fencing

Brushwood fencing is made from an Australian native plant named “Melaleuca Uncinata”. It is an extremely hardy plant, that is well suited to the manufacturing of a beautiful and long lasting fence. When built by our experienced tradesmen, you will be guaranteed a high quality product.

The “Melaleuca Uncinata” we use for our brushwood fencing, comes from areas that are overseen by the Forestries Department. The Forestries Department oversees all aspects of the cultivation of our brush. They only allow licensed cutters to cut and remove the brush and they allot certain areas to be cut at any one time. By doing this, it allows brushwood fencing to be a sustainable industry.

Brushwood fencing is made from a renewable resource making it much more environmentally friendly type of fence than other types of fencing. The brushwood we use is cut by machete from the plant. The plant will re-shoot over time and is able to be harvested again in approximately 7-10 years.
